BMG LABTECH to Launch its New Absorbance Microplate Reader, the SPECTROstar Nano at Elrig Drug Discovery 2010
25 Aug 2010: Visit BMG Labtech to learn more about the new absorbance microplate reader SPECTROstar Nano. Using a spectrometer, it captures a full UV-Visible spectrum (220 nm to 1000 nm) in less than 1 sec/well and measures sample volumes down to 2 µL. Membrane Fluidity Measurements Using UV Fluorescence Polarization and the POLARstar Omega 21 Apr 2010: In this application note the POLARstar Omega microplate reader from BMG LABTECH was used to study membrane fluidity via fluorescence polarization in the UV range. Nephelometric Monitoring Growth of Candida albicans Using BMG LABTECH’s NEPHELOstar 08 Apr 2010: Laser nephelometry has been shown to be a reliable technique for the measurement of drug solubility in 96-well plate format. In this application note the effects of complexation on drug antimycotic activity is described. Laser nephelometry can distinguish between the concentration at which the drug just goes into or just comes out of solution. This is presented in phase solubility studies. BMG LABTECH

BMG LABTECH to Showcase Microplate Technology at Analytica 2010

Functional Screening of Recombinant CHO-M1 Cells using the PHERAstar from BMGLABTECH 09 Feb 2010: This application note demonstrates the HTRF® assay from Cisbio as a fast and reliable method to directly screen a large number of stable transfected single cell clones. Carbachol dose response curves with fresh cells from a growing culture and frozen instant cells measured on BMG LABTECH´s PHERAstar showed similar results for EC50 and signal-to-blank values. FRET-Based Screening for Potential Modulators of G Protein/GoLoco Interaction 17 Nov 2009: A CFP-YFP FRET based assay was utilized to screen for potential inhibitors of the G protein/GoLoco interaction. Inhibitors of that interaction are putative pharmacological tools. The POLARstar Omega proved to be a reliable and robust instrument to perform these FRET based measurements. With the MARS Data Analysis Software, the FRET ratio and Z’ value are automatically calculated providing fast and efficient evaluation. BMG LABTECH
